Frequently Asked Questions
How far do we drive into the desert?
It is only around 30 minutes from most Sharm El Sheikh hotels to the desert edge, so you spend far more time enjoying the landscape than transferring to it.
Is the jeep safari private?
Yes. You have your own 4×4 jeep, your own driver and your own guide no shared vehicles and no fixed groups.
Is it suitable for young children or older travellers?
Yes, it is a gentle introduction to the desert. That said, the off-road sections are bumpy, so it is not recommended for travellers with serious back or neck problems or for pregnant women.
What is the difference between this and the camel safari?
This tour focuses on off-road 4×4 driving and desert scenery over 4 hours. The camel safari is shorter (3 hours) and centres on the camel ride and Bedouin camp.
Should I tip the Bedouin driver?
Tipping is entirely optional and always appreciated. Around 100200 EGP per vehicle is a common gesture if you enjoyed the experience.
What should I bring?
Comfortable closed shoes, sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen and a scarf or buff to protect against dust during the off-road sections.
