Frequently Asked Questions
Is snorkelling equipment included?
Snorkelling equipment and wetsuits are not included, but can be rented on site for a small fee. Life jackets are provided on the boat for anyone who wants one.
Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
No. The reefs are entered from shallow, calm water and life jackets are available. Non-swimmers regularly enjoy the trip and can simply relax on board.
Which is better, half day or full day?
The half day (4 hours) gives you one snorkelling stop plus the park perfect if you are short on time. The full day (8 hours) adds a second snorkelling stop and lunch, and is the better choice for keen snorkellers.
What marine life will I see?
Ras Mohamed sits where two seas meet, so the reef is exceptionally rich: eagle rays, turtles, barracuda, tuna, moray eels, lionfish and hundreds of species of hard and soft coral are all regularly seen.
How far is Ras Mohamed from Sharm El Sheikh?
Around 20 kilometres, roughly 4560 minutes by road depending on your hotel.
Can children snorkel at Ras Mohamed?
Yes, with adult supervision. Children aged 4 to 12 pay $50 for a half day and $75 for a full day; under 4s are free.
